From the Pori Jazz Festival, Finland, to Birdland, NYC!
Posted: August 6, 2013
It was great to be back at the Pori Jazz Festival. I had not been there since I played there with Stan Getz in the 1980’s! It was wonderful to see the festival still on-going and thriving with great energy.
The Tim Hagans Quartet had two performances. One in the Pori Theater, which is a historical building, lovely and intimate. We had a great, receptive audience. After the concert we strolled along the Jazz Street-incredibly lively!
The next night we performed at the Jazz Cafe, a smaller, intimate venue, equally attentive audience. Performing with Tim Hagans, Vic Juris, and Jukkis Uotila is quite challenging and a lot of fun. Tim’s music definitely challenges, and is subject to go anywhere. This is the Quartet that recorded Tim’s latest CD, “The Moon Is Waiting.” Playing in this manner with Tim, Vic and Jukkis is great fun!
Come to see us in New York City at Birdland, August 25. We will all be there and ready to let the fun continue. We start at 9:00pm. Don’t be late!
