Rufus’ AFC CONNECT Commission performed at PNME

The Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble will be performing three World Premieres by American Composers Forum national competition winners as part of the ACF CONNECT program.

My composition, Remembrance, is written in tribute to the 100 year celebration of Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, and Leonard Bernstein. I consider them all to be renegades of their time. I am so delighted to have the excellent PNME perform this work. Composing for these stellar musicians has been an enormous challenge. I have loved every minute of it. Thank you to the American Composer’s Forum for his opportunity.
