Rufus Reid at Ravinia Stean’s Music Institute/Bridges Competition

This wonderful “Bridges” week has become very successful. Three young composers were selected this year to receive the David Baker Prize of $2500, and includes a week of being at Ravinia Stean’s Institute working with Billy Childs, Steve Wilson and myself. The goal is to brige jazz and classical music by writing new music for a string quartet and a jazz trio. The week ends with a concert open to the public.
