2017 International Jazz Composers Symposium

I have been in Tampa at the ISJAC Conference for the past few days. I cannot tell you what a thrill it is for everyone. Maria Schneider, Billy Childs, and I have given Artist Talks. Evening concerts are John Hollenbeck and the Claudia Quintet, The Billy Childs Group and Chuck Owen and the Jazz Surge. There are research papers, Guest Artist Panels, Open Master Classes, Clinics and Lectures all hosted by wonderful composers. The whole event has fostered such excitement and a surge of creativity. If you did not come this year, I urge you to check this out and come next time! You cannot imagine how wonderful it is to be surrounded by working composers for three days!
