Quiet Pride is an hour long, five movement suite for a 20-piece orchestra (Big Band plus 2 French horns and female vocalize). Each movement was written for a particular sculpture of Elizabeth Catlett’s and the music takes shape from the iconic sculpture. The recording of this group received two nominations for the 57th GRAMMY Awards ~ Best Large Jazz Ensemble and Best Instrumental Composition for ‘Recognition’ the first movement of this suite.

Their maturity, sensitivity and ability to feel and hear what each is playing puts them in synch with one another as they complete the other’s thoughts in their musical conversation.
